Early Edward Wormley for Dunbar Sofa, c. 1940
Edward Wormley for Dunbar Sofa, circa 1940
An early Edward Wormley for Dunbar sofa dating to approximately 1940, showcasing the designer's distinctive approach to American modernism. Featuring an exposed metal substructure, dramatic angled side profile, and an expansive seating area, this rare vintage sofa embodies the refined architectural character that made Wormley one of the most influential furniture designers of the twentieth century.
The sofa remains structurally sound with excellent bones and is ready for restoration. It was reupholstered in corduroy at some point and would benefit from new upholstery. We offer professional reupholstery with a two-week turnaround using COM (Customer's Own Material); please inquire for pricing.
Original solid wood block legs remain intact beneath the sofa. Two small front-mounted wheels are attached to the underside and may be removed if preferred.
