Ceramics by Picasso 1950 Set of Sixteen, This 1st edition folio of 16 ceramic plates (not including the cover plate) with forward by Suzanne and Georges Ramié was printed by l'Imprimerie Roto-Sadag, Geneva, and published by Albert Skira, Geneva (previously published in French in 1948, later reissued in 1955). "This portfolio, containing 16 color plates of Picasso's ceramics, was printed by L'Imprimerie Roto-Sadag in Geneva. Finished on the tenth day of July 1950." Includes all 16 plates (plus cover and inside), very rare. Plates are die cut and gently pasted to stiff paper, loose leaf in portfolio wraps. The original glassine cover is yellowed, brittle, rippled, and chipped throughout. Stiff paper wraps are age-toned and soiled around the edges, shelf-wear on edges and corners bumped. Interior pages are age-toned with some foxing to the rear lower edge of pages. Bumps and minor chips/tears to corners and edges here and there. Color plates are still pristine and stunning.
