An architectural, large-scale modular bookcase and cabinet system designed by Mogens Koch and produced by Rud. Rasmussen’s Snedkerier, Copenhagen.

This expansive installation comprises ten open grid bookcase sections set above five lower cabinet bases, forming a continuous, museum-quality storage wall with strong horizontal and vertical rhythm — a hallmark of Koch’s rational, modular design philosophy.

Executed in solid pine with warm, natural patina, the system balances utility and architectural presence. The upper cases provide deep, proportioned shelving suitable for books, objects, and archives, while the lower cabinets feature paneled doors concealing generous closed storage. Subtle brass hardware and precise Danish joinery throughout.

Designed to be endlessly reconfigurable, Koch’s modular system was conceived for libraries, offices, and private interiors, and remains one of the most refined and functional shelving programs of mid-century Scandinavian design.
