Peter Pfisterer Rare Floor Lamp from MoMA Organic Design Show

Rare and important Floor Lamp: This form won first prize in the seminal Organic Design in Home Furnishings competition for the infinite number of positions the lighting sources can be directed. Few examples of this lamp are known, each is composed of different metals and finishes.

Swiss Architect Peter Pfisterer trained at the University of Vienna and served as a draftsman in Switzerland and France before moving the Los Angeles and working with Richard Neutra from 1933-1940. Afterwards, he joined the National Youth Administration in Los Angeles, first as a technical advisor and then as the state architect and chief of the Planning Office.
