Margit Pinter was an American importer during the 1950’s and 60’s. She would travel twice a year to the Berber Casbahs in Morocco, and personally select handwoven fabrics and tribal rugs to her taste, for her chic clients. Mrs. Pinter’s finds were exhibited at the Architectural League Building, and available for purchase through the decorative arts showroom, Mauretania, in Manhattan. Mrs. Pinter worked extensively with the influential architecture firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
