Early Isamu Noguchi Coffee Table Model IN50 for Herman Miller, Two pivoting and identical birch wooden forms are arranged inversely to one another by a hidden aluminum pin and joined only at one relatively narrow point, carrying a thick and heavy glass top. The shape of each supporting element is irregular but straight in the plan, while the top is an irregular oval that sits on but is not fixed to the base.

This table is an early example and probably from the first few years of production, the wood is thinner than later production tables, the pin is smooth with no notches, and the glass is hand cut.
