A refined and sculptural form by Gertrud Natzler, paired with Otto Natzler’s richly complex “Cat’s Eye” glaze. The surface reveals the full range of Otto’s experimental firing techniques, with layered ash deposits, natural melt fissures, and dynamic fire markings.
Combining Gertrud’s elegant, thin-walled vessel with Otto’s expressive, reduction-fired glaze, this work exemplifies the strength of their collaboration in its later period.
A rare and important example with exhibition history and direct provenance from the Natzler estate.
Condition:
Excellent original condition. Surface with inherent firing characteristics, including ash deposits, glaze pooling, melt fissures, and fire markings consistent with Otto Natzler’s reduction process. The glaze presents with tonal variation depending on lighting, shifting from warm brown to blue-green—an inherent quality of Otto Natzler’s work.
