Clyde Burt
Little Auglaize River Ceramics
Clyde Burt (1922-1981) emerged as major voice in post war studio ceramics at a time when the American Midwest was a creative hub exploding with industry and blown by international aesthetic cross currents powered by the likes of Mies van Der Rohe, Elliel Saarinen, and in ceramics, Burt’s mentor at Cranbrook, Maija Grotell. CONVERSO has worked intimately with the Burt family to unveil final works and we are pleased to reintroduce the work of this American Master.
